Shiver me timbers, its a pirate party! It’s such a popular theme for little boys, but I bet mommies also have lots of fun obliging their kiddos with this theme! It has many decorative elements you can play around with – spyglasses, masks, treasure chests and treasure coins, just to name a few. My favorite party detail here though, is the DIY table runner; it’s Manila Paper made to look like a treasure map using the birthday boy’s drawings! I’m sure Kiel had fun making this one! Read on ’til the end to read about mommy Lique’s stories about their homemade party.
Mommy Lique shares this about her homemade party:
I’ve always loved hosting parties, something about the fun get-togethers make me so happy, and they make me feel like a kid again. I’ve always loved crafting, so for my son’s 3rd birthday, I decided to try and do a DIY party for him. We planned a small party for close family and friends so the venue was just at our condo’s clubhouse pool. Kiel loved Jake and the Neverland Pirates, so we had a Pirate themed celebration. The decorations were all DIY, the birthday boy even helped. We put the cake on top of our DIY Treasure Chest made of an old box and we covered it with black and brown cartolina and gold foil edges. The Banners and Table Centerpieces are all DIY! I made paper boats and Talk and Look Like a Pirate Cards, then spread out some DIY spyglasses and treasure maps, Pirate Tattoos and Props, and lots of gold coins. With the help of Kiel, we drew on some Manila Paper to make the Map table runner for all the Pirate whatnots.
