What is a dump truck, a pay loader and an excavator doing in a party? Well, creating that construction truck party ambience, that’s what! I love how Mommy Cris cleverly used Liam’s growing collection of CAT trucks as party elements for his 3rd birthday. She shares, “I used a transporter truck as a cupcake stand, placed the marshmallows in the dump truck while the excavator is “digging” on the side. The pretzels are being carried by the pay loader and some jellyace are inside the mixer.” To complete the construction site look, they also deconstructed the store bought cakes and used mini trucks as toppers. This is a perfect example of creatively using what’s already available at home, and turning it into a meaningful DIY party for your loved ones!
From mommy Cris:
My son Liam loves trucks. He’s just fascinated with their big wheels and how these machines actually work. He started playing with trucks when he was less than one. And by the age of 2.5 y/o, he can already name different construction trucks and gets thrilled every time we see trucks on the road. That’s why for his 3rd birthday, we decided to have a construction truck party for “Liam the Builder”.
And because we don’t have an ample space at home to accommodate our guest, we opted to book Shakey’s Ortigas Extension Branch. While I am a fan of kiddie parties at quick-serve restaurants because of the convenience, I’m not really into the themes they offer primarily because I want to add a personal touch to the party. So for the 3rd time around, me, my husband, plus my sister geared up for another DIY and “homemade” party.
Here’s a list of suppliers from this DIY party:
- Cakes from Red Ribbon
- Homemade cupcakes by Liam’s Mama Morena
- Sugar Cookies by Happy Ever After Sweets
- Printables by Liam’s Aunt Rachelle
- Traffic Cones and Tool Boxes from Daiso
- Kiddie Construction Hat from 168 Mall
- Sandboxes by Smart Play
