A few months back, we helped a friend style a bridal shower she was throwing for her future sister-in-law. It was an intimate party, with just about 10 ladies welcoming the bride-to-be, Steph, to her new family. And boy, do we love intimate parties around here! We enjoyed planning this one; the Martha Stewarts in us were thrilled to be styling a kitchen-themed bridal shower! We played around with the cooking decors, incorporating blooms to the overall look. Kitchen scales were turned into desserts and flower holders, graters and measuring cups into vases, and cookbooks into pedestals.
Steph’s future mother-in-law and aunt-in-law were also very crafty! They made an amazing flower wall and MS monogram (the couple’s initials) out of paper flowers. I wish I got to take better photos of their work, but I got caught up with the styling and forgot to take a photo! You’ll get to see some snippets of them though in the next photos.
`
I learned two things in this party. First, the bright light coming from two big sliding doors made it difficult to take a good shot of the dessert table. Try not to set-up in front of windows and glass doors. Second, it was fun to style someone else’s party! We poured the same amount of effort and love into it! I guess that’s how it is when you’re really passionate about something – you always give it your all! #hmpmusings
And speaking of giving it your all…oh, what a tedious task it was to cut these scalloped tags one by one. Must get one of those cutting machines! But just like any homemade party, seeing the fruits of your labor come together makes it all worth it. And with that, I end today’s entry with a little treat for those of you planning a Kitchen Party. You may download this set of darling kitchen-themed printables here. Good luck with the scallops!
Suppliers:
- Kitchen Props: Mostly from our own kitchen, but some purchased from The SM Store, Gaisano, and Landmark. To those who love pink so much you’d want a pink weighing scale in your kitchen…that one, particularly, was from Landmark. : )
- Printables c/o Marian (I wrote more about her “printable work” here)
- Cupcakes, Cake Pops and Cookie Cups from Bite Me
- Flowers from BF Market

I’m sure the bride enjoyed this beautiful shower for her! I never had a bridal shower being the first in our group of friends to get married so no one had an idea of what to do. Haha!
