A Mickey Mouse party is an awesome way to celebrate. Every little kid loves Mickey and it’s also an easy theme to decorate. Just put his signature ears on everything and you’re all set! We saw a few Mickey-themed ideas in our recent #MickeyWeek, and here are some more straight from one of our HMP mommies, @happymomhappyme, as she shares some tips based on her experience in throwing a DIY Mickey Mouse party.
Birthday Banner. Though foodchains provide letters for birthday banners, personalize the generic banner even further by bringing your own letters. For this theme, I downloaded the Mickey Mouse font and then printed out the outline of the letters K, I, E and L. I used ordinary scissors to cut it out. I then I attached a cut out of red cartolina in the letter I and glued in 2 white buttons. Used another Mickey Mouse ears instead of the dot for the letter I. 😉 Reading the instructions/steps I provided here may sound overwheming but when you actually try to do it, it’s easy-peasy. 😊
Personalized Prizes. Prizes bought from Divi can also be “classy” and Instagram pic worthy. Personalize or re-label them according to your theme. Still using red and black cartolina and those Mickey Mouse ears, your table for game prizes will surely be eye-catching! 👍
Themed Lootbags. Mickey Mouse themed lootbags made from scratch. I couldn’t find a plain black paper bag so I made one out of black cartolina. I attached another sheet of cartolina (half the size of the black) but this time in red using double adhesive tape. I glued in 2 small white buttons to make it more like Mickey’s pair of shorts. Happy how it turned out but the kids were happier to receive them. 😊
Mickey Ears. No Silhouette Cameo!?! No problemo! 😉 You can still pretty-fy your Mickey Mouse themed Candy Buffet with just red and black cartolina and a pair of ordinary scissors. Patience in cutting out those little Mickey Ears is the key! 😊
Cupcake Liners. Can’t find the perfect cupcake liners to match your Mickey Mouse themed party? Go DIY! 1) Trace your ordinary liner in red cartolina. 2) Add additional detail by cutting one edge in scallops. 3) Glue in two white buttons. Instant Mickey Mouse themed cupcakes! 😉
