I’m sure by now you know I love styling parties! If a warehouse can magically fill itself up with props and cake stands and flowers and linens…I’d already be in the styling business! But alas, there’s no genie here, and thankfully, I’ve found styling my little DIY parties and that of my friends’ and family’s as an outlet! [See some of our homemade parties here!] I thirst for these kinds of activities – party planning, party styling, wedding planning – anything and everything to do with parties and weddings! That’s why I was very happy to kick-off my birthday month by attending a craft workshop with School of Styling PH. School of Styling is the brainchild of Em Sulit of Game Changer and Indy Ycasiano of She Dreams in Ink. They hold monthly workshops that aim to hone (or in some cases, bring out) the creative skills in you.
Em opened the workshop with some encouraging words on how we can all pursue our dreams and have fun while doing it. If your passion is all about crafting and styling, then these workshops are perfect for you! Em wrote about the beginnings of School of Styling in her blog and said it was a way to “approach creative skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.” I was there to learn new things for my DIY parties, but I’m sure there were some ladies who were there to learn a thing or two that they can apply in their future styling careers. Em’s opening was followed by a short mobile photography workshop by Genuice Burgos of Lightkeeper Studios, whom I have to thank for the photos you see here 😉 On the workshop went with the stars of the day – DIY tassels and piñatas c/o Indy! It was nice to finally meet the lady behind She Dreams in Ink. Indy was as sweet and charming as all the pretty parties she styles so beautifully! She was such a natural instructor, it didn’t even feel like a teacher-led workshop, more like just a bunch of ladies friends sharing a crafting afternoon – only we were doing it in a much bigger venue like Glorietta 5 instead of at home! 😂 It was such a fun morning, I can’t wait for the next set of workshops! I’m sure you’ll love it too! Here’s a schedule of School of Styling’s workshops for the rest of the year.
