You know I love to DIY! My friends usually get dragged into over-the-top party planning and styling mode when we’re preparing an event – only because it’s what I love to do. And since they love me, they let me get all cray-cray with the planning😂 But there’s one friend who I know enjoys this as much as I do, perhaps sometimes, even more! Her daughter’s first birthday is a testament to how much she loves DIY parties; even going to the extent of buying a portable sewing machine so she can make DIY souvenirs while having our high school home economics classes as her only background to sewing! Talk about labor of love! Here are the photos of this super cute and dainty party to prove it. Stick around to the end of the post for some tips from mommy Gela!
Here’s what mommy had to say about her party planning: “Growing up, all of our parties, big or small (including weddings) were just styled by the whole family. My Mommy loved hosting parties in our garage and garden and my dearest Ate would be our coordinator/designer/stylist/host and entertainer. 💃🏻 Since I was the youngest I was usually the one pushed and willing to be pushed to sing and dance. Hahaha! 😂Preparing for the party was a bonding experience. We’d all gather in the sala to do some DIY projects and those were happy memories of my childhood. 😍 That’s where the inspiration, influence and yes THE determination 💪🏻 came to DIY all of my daughters parties, big or small (including our very own wedding👰🏻). PLUS having friends who think and do alike, a DIY party community like Homemadeparties 😉, Pinterest and YouTube tutorials really helps a lot in all the planning and how to execute it. So here’s to keeping the tradition and enjoying it with my very own family.🍾 This party was a labor of love of Mama, Dada and Ate for owl little Luna 💗“
