Ohhhh, featuring a different kind of DIY today but one that’s sure to inspire those preparing for a kitchen, cafe or even a baking themed party! You’ve probably come across Mommy Rodessa’s play kitchen made of recycled cardboards. It went viral early this year, even getting international features from the likes of Baby Center and Huffington Post. And how can it not make waves in the mommy and parenting circles if you can turn something like this…
…into this!
Mommy shares, “I am very happy to be able to inspire a lot of parents all over the world not just to make DIY projects for their kids but also to recycle and save a little on their kid’s toys. I am amazed to read messages from parents who got inspired by my project and did something similar for their kids.” This DIY mom’s resourcefulness is inspiring, using a stainless bowl as basin for the sink, a hand wash bottle’s nozzle for the “faucet” and vinyl stickers and wrappers for that polished and fancy look!
But she doesn’t end there. Recently, she decided to expand the kitchen/cafe to include a pantry. “Audrey has started to identify some fruits and vegetables when I built the play kitchen. I thought a small pantry will be a great addition to store her toy fruits and vegetables,” Mommy Rodessa writes.
The months old play kitchen is still in good condition – considering an active toddler plays with it everyday! Mommy Rodessa tells us, “Surprisingly, my 18 month old daughter never tried to destroy it, maybe because she saw me build it from cardboard boxes.”
“We just celebrated Mother’s day and the appreciation, comments and kind words from people all over the world is more than enough gift for me as a mom. I just wanted my daughter to appreciate the cardboard box kitchen I did for her, I didn’t expect that the whole world will let me know that I did something good.” This truly is a labor of love! Inspired yet to do something like this for your next DIY party? Little girls will have a blast playing chef or restauranteur!
