It’s finally Christmas (yey!) so allow me to veer away from our usual DIY party post to share with you our cozy Christmas house. Every year, our home transforms into a Christmas wonderland, thanks to our Mama who magically brings North Pole, minus the snow, this side of the world. Seeing our house all decked with twinkling lights, red and green balls, and Santas left and right will definitely bring out the Christmas spirit in anyone! So, from my family to yours, a very merry Christmas!
Welcome to our Christmas Wonderland! And because we don’t have a chimney, Santa gets to pass through the front door! 😄 Wouldn’t you love entering through a doorway like this?
My favourite part about decorating for the holidays is building our Christmas village! It’s a pretty daunting task which starts out with clearing our mezzanine and arranging the boxes then adding the houses and Christmas lights and putting little details! But the finished product is definitely worth it! Below is a before and after shot. Notice how the little details make all the difference?
Let’s take a tour of our village, shall we?
Here’s our gimmick area: tavern, restaurant, dance hall, bus stop
Commercial Area (grocery, bakery, bank, toy shoppe, etc)
Church and School Zone: 3 different churches and 2 schools!
The country side with a cottage and farm house, complete with a worn out toy truck which i especially love! The old and dilapidated look adds to the rustic feel.
Speaking of my favourites…I am so in love with our vintage billboards up on the hillside. These small details add character to our Christmas village. Little things like…
people, trees and street lamps…
cars (like this Wells Fargo matchbox parked outside a bank!)…
and of course, Santa and his reindeers!
One of my favourite Christmas messages, lol! 😂
Merry Christmas to my HMP family!
