Nothing like a good old classic red party cup to make you feel that holiday cheer, especially if it’s all decked in a Santa outfit! This is a quick and easy DIY you can add to your Christmas tables and shelves, or use as snack containers for your parties this season. You can even fill it up with treats, wrap it up and you’ve got yourself a sweet gift for your loved ones.
Here’s what you’ll need: red cups (you can purchase here) | electric tape | shiny paper | scissors | glue
Step 1. WRAP | Wrap the black electric tape around the cup to form a belt. Note: These red cups usually come with measuring lines on the outside. I placed the tape in the middle of these lines as you can see in the photo below.
Step 2: CUT | Cut out square shaped strips of the shiny paper and make similar ones from the electric tape. I didn’t measure it anymore, just eyeballed it.
Step 3. STICK. | Stick the electric tape onto the middle of the gold square. Place the gold square on the cup to make it look like a buckle.
And…tadah!
I made these for a project and just set them aside. When my toddler saw them, he shouted “Christmas!” and then I asked him what it was – “A belt!” he answered. If a toddler thinks it’s Christmassy, then it’s mission accomplished for me! 🎅🏻
I used electric tape for my finished product but I attempted to use black ribbon on my first try. Here’s how you can do it too if you don’t have an electric tape at home.
It’s such a versatile project, you can use a lot of other items for the buckle too.
There you have it! I hope this simple DIY can help add that Christmas feel to your homes. 💕 Share your Christmas DIYs too and use the hashtag #homemadeparties when you do!
