These days, kiddie parties come close to weddings and debuts and would often already have their own coordinators, stylists, photographers, hosts, the works. Beautiful styling equals beautiful photos. Being a party enthusiast, I enjoy seeing these things and would go from one blog to another to see the elaborate set-ups, fabulous dessert tables, “designer” cakes, and every other party detail that’s eye candy.
I like daydreaming about these kinds of parties – but I have to say that I love small, intimate, homemade parties just as much. You know, those types we used to have back when we were kids…when daddy played game master (hello pukpok palayok and pabitin!) and mommy served her home-cooked spaghetti (and hotdogs on sticks with marshmallows at the tip displayed on top of a cabbage =P)? There’s also those impromptu mini celebrations moms would put together because her 1st grader got a star in school, or won a contest, or…well, who needs a reason? If you’re a party enthusiast like me, any excuse will do for a party!
I love to celebrate almost everything and I get excited at every chance I can play hostess. I love bringing people together and oftentimes I find myself planning little parties for my friends and family. These are the kinds of parties I like to call “homemade”. And just because it’s “homemade”, it doesn’t mean it can’t be done with style. DIY-ing even makes it all the more personal and meaningful!
So here’s hoping that with this blog, you get inspired to create beautiful memories with your homemade parties. Let’s celebrate life’s little (or big!) moments, one DIY party at a time!
